kronor per år? Trots att både näringsforskare och Livsmedelsverket konstaterat att det är onödigt och till och med kan vara en risk och göra mer skada än nytta. Överdosering av c-vitamin kan bland annat öka risken för gråstarr…
Jag höll på att trilla av stolen när jag hörde dokumentären om kosttillskott i Sveriges Radio. Jag hör ju till en av dem som börjar varje morgon med en c-vitamin brustablett. ”Bättra att få i sig för mycket vitaminer än för lite!” har jag alltid tänkt. Så för att vara på den säkra sidan kan ju knappast en c-vitamintablett skada! Men tji fick jag!
Och desto mer jag lyssnar på de olika forskarnas studier och använder mitt sunda förnuft, säger det sig självt! Varför äta kosttillskott?
Jag går och hämtar mina c-vitaminer och studerar innehållsförteckningen med en annan vishet än tidigare;
1000mg/tablett.1200% över daglig dos. Ja, varför i all sindar skulle någon behöva få i sig SÅ mycket C-vitamin på en dag? Och det säger sig självt att det inte är bra att överdosera, även om det är nyttiga vitaminer. För oavsett 
hur mycket man hade velat förebygga en förkyldning hade man aldrig ätit 3kg apelsiner varje dag! Men med EN c-vitamin brustablett är det där det hamnar.
Och den typen av ”överdosering” skapar bara stress i kroppen. Samma med multivitaminen. En enda tablett ger ännu fler små ”översoser”. Ex folsyra 150% över rekommenderat dagligt intag! Det verkar ju som att man i så fall inte ska äta några vitaminer alls för att kunna äta multivitamin utan att överdosera.
Varför får kosttillskott innehålla så höga doser? Eftersom kosttillskott inte ses som något läkemedel finns inga krav och ses snarare som ett livsmedel och det sker inte direkt några kontroller på innehållet.
Vilka kan äta kosttillskott? Vi har nog glömt bort varför kosttillskott togs fram från första början. Det var ett TILLSKOTT för det som fattades! Förr i tiden var det inte ovanligt att Sjömän drabbades av skjörbjugg pga för lite intag av C-vitamin. De som drabbas idag av skjörbjugg är alkollister och det med ätstörningar, så som anorektiker
Med andra ord! Äter du en balanserad kost med grönsaker, frukt, nötter,fisk osv. Behöver du inga kosttillskott! Inte bara att du inte behöver, en långvarig överdosering kan till och med ge dig andra sjukdomar!! Så istället för att slänga pengarna i sjön, eller till dem som vil tjäna pengar på kosttillskott, spara pengarna och gör något kul med dem!
Jag håller med om att flera företag som producerar vitamintillskott har felaktiga mängder i produkten eller att sammansättningen av vitaminerna och mineralerna är gjord på ett sådant sätt att kroppen inte tar upp det. Då är det onödigt och overksamt och kan vara skadligt.
Men att vi inte behöver tillskott håller jag inte med om. Med tanke på alla de studier som finns idag som visar på hur lågt näringsinnehåll frukt, bär och grönsaker innehåller behöver vi äta mellan 9-13 knytnävar mer dag för att ha ett bra skydd (i alla fall enligt amerikanska cancerförbundet). Och att vi sedan stressar allt mer, äter sämre kvalité av kosten, får i oss fler skadliga kemikalier, gifter och utsätts för strålning gör att vi behöver få i oss ytterligare antioxidanter för att ge cellerna ett optimalt skydd. Så det är otroligt svårt att äta en så pass balanserad kost VARJE dag för att få ett optimalt cellskydd.
Ex så gick JAMA ut redan 2002 och rekommenderade alla vuxna att inta ett multivitamintillskott vilket är otroligt bra.

Så min personliga slutsats, efter att ha mätt hundratals människors antioxidantvärde är att vi generellt ligger alldeles för lågt, inte alltid pågrund av att vi äter dåligt utan för att vi utsätts för så otroligt mycket mer fria radikaler via vår livsstil än förr i kombination med att kvalitén (näringsinnehållet) på vår kost är sämre.
Problematiken är att det är en bransch som, så många andra, kan och vill tjäna mycket pengar på andras okunskap så det är viktigt att som konsument veta OM du behöver tillskott och i så fall använda ett av hög kvalité!!
